Last year one of our wonderful supporters launched a quiz titles Letter From Africa, in support of Open Arms Malawi.
There were 116 entries to the Letter from Africa quiz competition by the closing date of April 23, which came from 44 different counties.
And the winners are.....
First Prize: Beryl Bowley, of Newport Pagnell, with the tiebreaker: Shaken bard, in a train crash, mended hearts, for the answer CHRISTIAAN BARNARD.
Second Prize: Pauline Withers, of Great Harwood, Lancashire, with the tiebreaker: Old Kingswhose circular letters are not bad, we hear, for the answer PHARAOHS.
Third Prize: Trevor and Jenny Evans, of Harpenden, with the tiebreaker: A magic tool is included in the Royal Artillery in this country, for the answer RWANDA.
The quiz has raised over £2,100 already and we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has taken part.
If you'd like to see the answers they are all detailed in the letter below.
The team plan to launch the next quiz in this series in the Autumn of 2022. As the topics of the last two years' quizzes have proved popular, the next one will be entitled LETTER FROM AUSTRALIA, and will be about all things Australian. If you would like to take part all the details are in the letter below.
Finally on behalf of us all at Open Arms, both in the UK and in Malawi, we'd like to say a very big thank you to Edmund Marshall for organising such a successful event that is helping provide life saving care for vulnerable children in Malawi.
Your donation will help children in Malawi grow up healthy with the love of a family
